Fall in Love: Why Autumn Captivates My Heart

As summer’s heat cools and I settle into the school year, I find myself brimming with excitement for the fall season. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer– the endless beach days, carefree t-shirt and shorts outfits, and cool treats like snow cones and ice cream. But after three months of restless nights in the heath and battling frizzy hair, the need for a sweatshirt is invigorating. Fall ushers in my favorite holidays, my cozy wardrobe, and the perfect blend of chilly mornings and warm afternoons. I savor the feeling of soft sweaters and jeans, the aroma of warm apple cider, and the joy of carving pumpkins with my friends and family

In my mind, Halloween stands out as one of the best holidays. I love the thrill of dressing up, putting finite attention towards my costumes just like I did as a kid. Once October 1st hits, front yards transform into museums of skeletons and inflatable monsters. Although my dog may growl at these unknown creatures on our walks, it is hard to not be swept up into the festive spirit of the neighborhood.

Then comes Thanksgiving, a holiday that often gets overlooked, but offers so much to celebrate. The food alone is immaculate—my family’s spread features lamb chops, creamy sweet potato casserole, roasted potatoes, and an array of cooked vegetables. It’s a time for gathering, gratitude, and savoring every moment together.

As summer comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on the warm morning walks and the colorful blooming flowers. The vibrant green leaves and the soft buzz of bees will be missed, but as fall approaches, I feel a new excitement in the air.

So while I’ll cherish the memories of summer, I eagerly embrace the coziness that fall brings, ready to create new experiences and savor the magic of the season.
